The Tinker, the Mage & The Princess is the first book in the trilogy, “Tales Told by a Tinker”
The King of Autry has outlawed magic and has begun a purge of magic users from his kingdom. The Silver Tower of mages and its surrounding city of Silverglade have resisted the King’s purge and have erected barriers around the compound to protect themselves. They are on the brink of all out war between them. The King is a bachelor and is getting pressure to secure a bride and an heir.
The kingdom to the north of Autry across the Granite River, Sulan, has two eligible Princesses that may be in play for marriage. Magic is allowed in Sulan, but not encouraged. The Order of the Chalice in Sulan is the union that teaches magic to those gifted and discipline’s those acting against their rules. With no male heirs a marriage of one of the daughters to the King of Autry might be good for both kingdoms. Commerce is good between the two kingdoms.
The northern most kingdom known as Balzar, was separated from Sulan by a large mountain chain known as the SkyRock Mountains. King Gregory is a descendant of the pirates that settled along the Emerald Sea generations ago. Most of the settlements were former ports and had good roads between them. The pirates that originally raided commerce many years ago, eventually turned into a navy of sorts, along with a large fishing fleet. The King’s influence was strongest along the coast and the mountain tribes were left to themselves. The mountains were littered with Trolls and Ogres and the Tribes of the mountains hunted them from the backs of giant condors.
Balzar was known for having very loose morals. Pleasure houses were common and so was the slave trade. Magic was encouraged and used whenever necessary. The King employed many mages and was considering an alliance with the Silver Tower to help with their war with Autry.
Follow the adventures of a traveling Tinker and his Giant Coach as he travels the kingdoms in search of clues to the lost Tinker homeland, The Shimmering Forrest. He plays a critical role in bringing the right people together on this adventure to save lives.
Nathan, the Tinker, has many companions join him on his adventures. Kingdoms rise and fall, and new lands open to bring new dangers. Ogres, Trolls. Elves and dwarfs make appearances.
Escape reality for a while and enjoy this colorful world of adventure and fascinating characters.
