Fine arts painter Percy Black is looking to find himself after a divorce and after being asked to resign from pastoring after 21 years. What he finds is Elizabeth, a young woman as adrift as he is. Although she’ll be the first to deny it, she is alone and in desperate need of help, and Percy feels the call to aid her even after she stabs him in his painting arm during their shaky introduction.
