Daniel and his best friend, Papa, make their way through a sinister cave, where a crow picked at the little flesh that remained on a pile of bones. The misshapen walls of the cave, embedded with diamonds, glistening and gleaming like mysterious eyes watching their every footstep. They cross a river on the back of a fierce crocodile, and then fly on the back of a giant Condor, before saving Ernest, the rarest of rare custard elephants. Papa tells Daniel about Captain McCaffery and his evil cutthroat crew, including jelly belly Johnson who consumed jelly for breakfast, jelly for lunch and jelly for dinner. The stinkiest pirate known to sail the oceans was smelly Scruffbags Samuels but, the scariest of them all was McCaffery’s wife, crazy Maisie. An incredibly large and feisty woman, her beady eyes peered out through a wild tangle of matted hair like those of a wolf about to make a kill. Eventually, the treasure of Broderick McCaffery, lay scattered at the entrance of the cave of eternal screams. But, to protect his treasure, McCaffery had the help of Sidero, a sly slithering snake, with fiery red eyes filled with torment; a forked tongue that flicked in and out, and a mouth filled with bloodthirsty razor-sharp fangs. As they stood in fear, the delicate sound of thunder faded into the distance and a voice boomed out from the cave entrance……
