Nova Mann

Appalachian author and musician, Nova Mann, has released her first book, available now at Amazon as of June of 2022. Hope Knocking tells the story of 2020 from three different perspectives: Amantha, an opinionated retired educator who considers herself to be half hillbilly and half flatlander; Matthew, her soft-spoken mountain husband; and Nancy Mae, Amantha's charismatic elderly mother who has returned to her East Tennessee roots after leaving nearly seventy years ago. The three live in Mavie, a mere speck on a USGS topographical map, on the banks of the Diamond River. The memoir explores the relationship of the three main characters as they each deal with the anxiety and turmoil going on around them during Coronavirus Days. Core beliefs are questioned and souls are searched as they each grieve the attack on American democracy, the unraveling of decency among human beings, and the destruction of our beautiful home, planet Earth.

Accompaning the narrative are thirteen of the writer's songs, which are now available by download individually or in a complete album, also called Hope Knocking. You will be directed to Amazon by clicking above on The Music page in the upper left corner. You may sample each song here as well.
