Marci Brockmann

I am a multi-passionate person unconventionally combining my creativity to build a life I love. I have been a professional photographer, a graphic artist, a public relations assistant, a retail manager, a fundraiser for a non-profit, an artist, a voice actor…all this and I’ve been a high school English teacher for 25 years. This summer I’ve become an author and as of November 2020, I'm also a podcaster.

In the Permission to Heal Podcast with Marci Brockmann, we engage in meaningful, deeply human conversations using our voices to inspire connection, compassion, understanding, empathy, and whole-hearted wellness. We all need to learn to give ourselves the grace and space to heal from trauma, to breathe through the tough stuff, and create meaningful lives and love. Only we can give ourselves permission to trust and take care of ourselves, permission to follow our hearts and desires, and build lives of love, home, and belonging.

Permission to Heal is about sharing inspiring stories of healing journeys and giving ourselves permission to heal, permission to love ourselves and build amazing lives.

For over forty years, I have been journaling and painting and I swear it keeps me sane. I am a columnist for Elephant Journal and the reception my writing received told me there was a book begging to be written and that became Permission to Land: Searching for Love, Home & Belonging, and the companion journal Permission to Land: Personal Transformation Through Writing.

I earned my B.A. from SUNY New Paltz, an M.A. from LIU/Post, and an M.S. from the University of Phoenix, and I have been a high school English teacher for more than twenty-five years. I live in Long Island, NY, with my husband, our kids, frisky cats, and many fishes.

I am so grateful for my readers - I'm so glad we are going on this life-changing journey together.
