A virus has decimated over 99 percent of the world’s population, few remain… In a small town in the mountains of central Oregon, two brothers, Clint and Steve Walker, begin to gather a few dozen survivors together. Food, fuel, power, and medicine are all in short supply. A warlord in the valley below has crowned himself the governor of the entire Pacific Northwest, going by his own rules, and giving himself absolute power of life and death. Since many of the things needed for survival are in the valley, the small-town survivors have a deadly conflict ahead of them. At sea, the last US Navy ship the Anthony Bruno, DDG 1007, now commanded by ex-fighter pilot Captain Jennings, travels in circles. With only 115 survivors onboard, the captain’s new mission will be to decide how to rebuild society under martial law. But will this newfound freedom from the old law prove too tempting for some?
