Take a dedicated young man who has not even reached the age of drinking on some worlds and tell him he must go out and save everyone. There is a threat to all the civilized worlds out in the universe by someone who has a weapon that destroys a star. It blows up the sun in a system in one blast and takes out all the planets as the star expands in its dying explosion, killing all within its deadly throes.
Unfortunately, in order to escape unseen from his planet and go out to get a group of friends to help track down the people with the weapon, he steals a ship owned by a spoilt rich girl who makes his life miserable.
There are times when he wonders who is worse, the criminals with a deadly weapon or a pretty grey-eyed young woman who is fighting his activity in all his moves around the different world. He searches for friends as she makes his life on her special ship completely wretched. Who wins out in the end?
