Pat Gatz

Born in Northern Ontario, where the most isolated, dense forests and thick marshes run for miles until the eye can't see, Pat Gatz is a master hunter. He is from the Eagle Village First Nation - Kipawa Indian Reserve, also known as Kebaowek, a First Nations reserve in Abitibi-T'emiscamingue, Quebec. Being a First Nation Algonquin Native, hunting is my life to provide and feed my family.

I started hunting when I was just three years old and had been hunting for over twenty years. For me, “ Hunting is a way to connect to wonderful, peaceful, and beautiful mother nature and a key to true happiness!”

I see hunting as a way of life, hobby, sport, a profession that all humans should learn how to appreciate. Through my books and guides, I want to share my extensive knowledge and experience with the world to slowly ease you into the hunting world.

When I’m not hunting or writing books, I am a full-time municipal firefighter helping my community!
