Biography
Mike Joyner
Mike Joyner, Veteran turkey hunter for 30+ years. He began deer hunting with a bow and small game back in 1985. It wasn’t until he heard the massive gobbling of a flock of gobblers disrupted and scattered by incoming deer hunters one very cold morning during late deer season that gave cause to pursue the wily wild turkey.
The following year- May 1993 was his first season, and he never looked back. Since then, Mike has pursued his favorite game bird in 14 states, achieving two wild turkey grand slams, and a top twenty NWTF scoring gobbler in his home state of NY.
That experience resulted in 9 years of volunteer service to the New York State of the National Wild Turkey Federation as a board member, also serving as it’s President from 2000 to 2004.
Mike, a member of the New York Outdoor Writers Association since 2005 is currently serving on the board of directors and a past President.
