Biography
Kurt B. Ellis
Kurt B. Ellis has lived a remarkable life, to say the least, and now has many life experiences to draw from.
Boy in the Barn: Journey of Triumph Over Horrific Child Abuse, Sexual Abuse, and PTSD follows a boy from his terrible childhood. It is fiction based on Ellis’s life. Although not a memoir, it was inspired by his memories, flashbacks, triggers, and struggles to overcome abuse and trauma.
Writing began as a form of therapy to continue with his lifelong healing journey. But, determined not to be defined by abuse, Ellis becomes more than just another sexual abuse statistic.
Kurt B. Ellis is now an enthusiastic writer of contemporary and science fiction books. He is also an advocate for sexually abused people or those who were cruelly suppressed by events in life beyond their control.
Kurt was born, raised, and educated in the southeastern USA. After a long and rewarding career as a scientist, regulator, and advisor in the foods-manufacturing industry, he retired from public work.
Kurt remarried and now lives in the Midwest with his husband. Kurt is the father of two wonderful grown children and the proud grandfather of two precious granddaughters.
Kurt is an avid gardener who loves growing vegetables, yard work, and landscaping.
Beyond writing and advocating for abuse victims, other passions include traveling, fine dining, drinking robust red wines, reading, and investing.
His book is inspired by Stephen Mills’s “Chosen: A Memoir of Stolen Boyhood,” Elizabeth Smart’s “My Story,” and Delia Owens’s “Where The Crawdads Sing.”
